Domestic Abuse
Domestic violence effects everyone around it more than most can imagine. And the effects are not only devastating to those it is perpetrated upon, but also to those around it such as children.
And the negative effects of domestic abuse can be felt for generations. Many times become who would not normally become violent are so because of the violence around them. We have to break the cycle.
Please do not turn a blind eye to domestic violence. If you see someone being abused, take action. Contact a help organization, the police, someone. Together we can end domestic violence.

About them: My Sisters’ Place (MSP) strives to engage each member of society in our work to end domestic violence so that all relationships can embrace the principles of respect, equality, and peacefulness. Since 1978 we have advanced this mission in Westchester County and the surrounding region through advocacy, community education, and services to those harmed by domestic violence.
Through advocacy, we act as a force for social change in law and public policy.
Through community education, we challenge public perceptions of intimate violence and the social inequities that give rise to it, and we promote prevention with a special emphasis on youth.
Through direct services, we support the abused, primarily women and their children, in seeking safety, self-determination, and justice.
Coming together, we can make a difference.
When people come together with one common purpose in mind, they can make anything happen. It is with this stubborn philosophy that we as a people have overcome some of the hardest obstacles that have been put in our path.
The time is now, for us to take stock in our lives, and determine if we are doing what is within our power and control, to help those out around us that are having it much tougher.
Each day, our goal should be to have helped one person. No matter how minute the effort, or how grand. We should strive to help one person in some way, to better their lives. And many times its as simple as showing that you care, and might have an insight into what they are going thru and can share in their tribulations and pain.
